Thoughtful musings on practicing yoga, protecting our environment and building community

About me January 15, 2008

At first, environmental writing and practicing yoga seemed like two different paths. As I continue to delve into each, however, they are beginning to intertwine in new, unexpected and delightful ways that I could have never imagined. My passion for championing environmental issues through communication only grows stronger with the practice of yoga, and likewise for my energy to explore the ancient study of yoga as I dedicate time to investigating the natural world around me.

I am an associate editor for Worldchanging.com, a site dedicated to bringing together the models, tools and ideas to create a more sustainable world. Please feel free to e-mail me with thoughts, comments, questions or suggestions. Another project I work with is called seattleDIRT.com. This site is dedicated to collecting the underreported social justice and environmental news in the Seattle area. We are working to build a community discussion about our environment, and our place in it. To read articles, participate in the forum or check out events on the community calendar, head to www.seattledirt.com

In April, I received my yoga teaching certificate from the Yoga Alliance. I currently teach classes in my living room and am working on creating a weekend community class with a group called Sustainable Wallingford. You’ll be able to find out when and where I will be teaching class under the ‘classes’ category of this blog.I am extremely passionate and dedicated to making the world a better place. If you are too, I am sure our paths will cross some day.

Until then,

Sarah
